About

Fairhope Writer-in-Resident Program March 2026

The Fairhope Writing Center located in Fairhope, Alabama will host author, Dawn Major, as its resident-in-writer March of 2026. The Wolff Cottage was named in the honor of Page & Palette bookstore founder, Betty Joe Wolff. The 1920’s mission-style cottage was saved from demolition in 2001 by author Sonny Brewer and fellow Fairhope residents. Following extensive renovations, the cottage opened its doors to its first writer-in-resident, Pulitzer Prize winning journalist and novelist Rick Bragg. Since then, the writing retreat has hosted various types of writers. Both national and international authors have participated, including novelists, journalists, and memoirists. It has also welcomed screenwriters, songwriters, and poets.
